The automotive industry is in the midst of a significant change. Increased demands on environmental sustainability, more customer demand for individualization and connectivity as well as shorter model cycles are major challenges, opportunity and a risk. This requires disruptive technologies in production lines to replace rigid systems through flexible ones. Automation is a major enabler for building smarter manufacturing with the Internet-of-Things (IoT). The transition to human-robot collaboration, more open network architectures and data sharing of IoT poses challenges in accident prevention, IT-security and design of machinery and beyond. Nevertheless the combination of IoT, Big Data, and M2M optimization will bring profound opportunities. B&R already offers today future-proof solutions for the automation of tomorrow. |

In a brief presentation we would seek to outline the main issues facing foreign investors when establishing a business in Mexico. The focus of our presentation would be on the legal and tax effects of establishing a branch versus a corporation; the main concerns regarding payments made abroad (to suppliers and shareholders) and the main administrative considerations of the import of raw material or merchandise to be utilized (sold or manufactured) in Mexico. We would direct our presentation to the main issues we have faced with clients (on no name basis) in the industry as to make it a more practical talk rather than theoretical and would leave most of the time open for questions from the participants. |
